Dagger in the Sea by Cat Porter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Dagger in the Sea…. I don’t even know where to begin. While longer than expected, I found myself devouring each and every page, enthralled in every word of the story that Cat Porter weaved. I was spellbound by her words, intrigued by the suspense throughout, and a little more in love with Greece than before the beginning of this book.
To call this a mafia or dark romance book would simply not be true. Cat Porter has managed to combine together so many different layers in this book that I am still reeling from it all. What started out as what seemed to be a story about a misunderstood man in the mafia quickly gave way to one of the best written romance novels I have read in a long time.
The research that had to of been done for this novel is staggering. Between the historical stories, the literature references, and the Greek myths scattered throughout I am impressed at how amazingly everything was pulled together. From start to finish, I was immersed and invested in Arturo and Adriana, and couldn’t wait to see where their love story went.
And the dagger in the sea? The best part of all… Read it and find out what I mean!
